Free to Play Halo Announced, In Russia

343 Industries today announced that a new Halo title is in the works, called Halo Online, but it's a pretty puzzling game announcement for a couple of reasons.
Not only is Halo Online a free-to-play title - marking the franchises' entry into the free-to-play arena, but it's also a PC exclusive and will only be releasing in Russia for the time being.

The game is being developed by Saber Interactive and Innova Systems, in collaboration with 343 Industries, and will use a modified Halo 3 game engine:
"Halo Online is powered by a highly modified version of the Halo 3 engine and optimized for smooth performance on lower-end PCs. While there’s no campaign mode, Halo Online is set on a secret UNSC space installation called Anvil, where Spartan-IV soldiers train together in war exercises to sharpen their battle skills and test experimental technology.

During the Halo Online closed beta, we will continuously adjust and modify gameplay, features, and the in-game economy. We’re looking forward to getting feedback from gamers living in Russia when Halo Online enters closed beta later this spring via Innova’s 4game platform."

343 Industries also posted this quick Q&A for the game which you can read here.
